Inglewood Quiet Hours Rules (2026): What You Need to Know

The City of Inglewood Noise Regulations (Chapter 5, Article 2) establish criteria and standards for regulating noise levels within the community. IMC Section 5-29 makes it unlawful for any person to willfully make or continue any loud, unnecessary, or unusual noise which disturbs the peace or quiet of any neighborhood or which causes discomfort or annoyance to any reasonable person residing in the area. Playing loud music, including from car stereos, is specifically cited.

Motorized lawnmowers, lawn edgers, and other yard maintenance equipment are prohibited from exceeding the ambient base noise level by 5 dBA at the property line between sunset and 7:00 AM. Given Inglewood's proximity to LAX and the presence of SoFi Stadium, the noise ordinance includes specific provisions for aircraft jet engine noise and exemptions for permitted events at sports and entertainment complexes within the Hollywood Park Specific Plan area and the SE Overlay Zone.

Animal noise is also regulated: it is unlawful to keep any animal or fowl that causes annoyance or discomfort by sound, cry, or behavioral noise to a reasonable person in a residential neighborhood.
