Inglewood Night Caps Rules (2026): What You Need to Know

Inglewood's STR ordinance distinguishes between three types of rentals. A Hosted STR is a dwelling rented in part where the host remains in the unit during the stay. An Unhosted STR is the entire dwelling rented where the host is not present. A Vacation Rental is an unhosted whole-house rental that may only occur if the property is within 1,000 feet of the host's primary residence.

Vacation Rentals are capped at a maximum of 90 days per calendar year and must occur in blocks of 30 consecutive days or fewer. For vacation rental eligibility, the host must have been an Inglewood resident for at least 10 years, owned their primary residence for at least 5 consecutive years, and owned the vacation rental property for at least 365 days before applying.

It is a violation to use any STR dwelling or its curtilage to hold parties or gatherings of the type that hotel ballrooms or event spaces are typically rented for. Guest on-street parking is limited to one vehicle per booking. These restrictions are especially significant given Inglewood's proximity to SoFi Stadium, the Kia Forum, and the Intuit Dome, which generate substantial short-term lodging demand.
