Inglewood Driveway Rules Rules (2026): What You Need to Know

Inglewood strictly enforces driveway and parking surface rules. Under IMC Section 12-15, parking vehicles on front lawns is expressly prohibited and subject to citation. The City identifies lawn parking as a code enforcement priority that negatively affects neighborhood appearance and property values.

All residential driveways must be constructed of Portland cement concrete and must provide direct vehicular access to a garage or enclosed parking facility. No driveway may be constructed or maintained without this access requirement. For properties with four or fewer residential units, only one driveway (single or double) is permitted per lot. Single or one-way driveways must be 10–12 feet wide; double or two-way driveways must be 18–22 feet wide (16 feet minimum if serving only a two-car garage). Driveways must be spaced at least 70 feet apart at the lot line for properties with multiple driveways.

Circular driveways are permitted only on properties with a building setback of at least 30 feet and a street frontage of at least 100 feet. City zoning regulations require that garages be used for sheltering and parking vehicles, not for general storage. Carports and porte cocheres may not substitute for required parking garages without a permit.
